Clifford Harold Shoemaker passed away February 13, 2021 in Meridian Mississippi. A Viewing will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. at Antioch Southern Methodist Church, 11441 Center Hill Martin Road, Collinsville, MS. Burial will be in Sterrett, Alabama on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
Mr. Shoemaker was an active member at Antioch Southern Methodist Church where he also sang in the choir. He was born in Anniston, Alabama and grew up in Sterrett, Alabama. After graduating high school, he went to work in the steel industry. A transfer with Virginia Steel took him to Starr, South Carolina where he met and married the love of his life Betty Ann Lawton Shoemaker of Iva, South Carolina. He retired from Bethlehem Steel in Miami, Florida and moved back home briefly before moving to Meridian, Mississippi and working for and retiring from Magnolia Steel.
Mr. Shoemaker was a US Army veteran and an avid Alabama Crimson Tide and Meridian Wildcat sports fan and enjoyed cheering on both throughout the years.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty Ann Shoemaker, sons Jeff (Jerri) Shoemaker and Steve (Susan) Shoemaker. Sister Frances Acker, grandchildren Scott Shoemaker, Nicole (Guy) Parent and Bradley (Kyle) Shoemaker-Webster. Step-Grandchild Jeremy (Heather) Wills, Paul (Emily) Henry and Jamie (Aaron) Henry, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shoemaker is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Estell Shoemaker. Brother Earl Shoemaker and sisters Betty Jean (Billups) Spradley, Ann Massey and Charlotte Edwards.
