Mack was inducted into the Mississippi Community and Junior College Sports Hall of Fame. As a quarterback for Pearl River Community College PRCC won the state and national championship in 1961. The team went 10-0 and outscored opponents 446-47. He was named to the All-State and All American teams that year. At the Junior College All Star game in Albuquerque, New Mexico he passed for two touchdowns and was named the game MVP. At Pearl River, as a sophomore he tallied 24 touchdowns and completed 89 or 151 passes but would have had more but usually the team was so far ahead the starters were pulled so other players could play.

Mack went on to play at the University of Houston where he was moved to halfback. He later went to work for Amoco oil.

He was the ninth player from PRCC to be inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame and is also a member of the PRCC Sports Hall of Fame.
