Services for Mrs. Helen Edwards will be held Sunday, December 17th, 2:00 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home of Union with Bro. Jon Martin officiating.
Helen was an active member of First Baptist Church of Union, MS where she was involved in many areas such as choir, children’s Sunday school and others. She also was a long-time member of the Present Day Club. She put others before herself, serving the elderly shut-ins as an example. She loved singing and enjoyed sharing her voice at any time she was called upon. One of her great passions was painting as exhibited by the many paintings that hung throughout her home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at River Birch Estate Assisted Living in Union, MS. The care and compassion extended to Helen during her stay there were most appreciated and made a difficult time much more bearable.
Her survivors include husband William “Bill” Edwards; daughters Debbie Sherret and husband Mike and Sherri Livingston and husband Mark; grandchildren Brian Sherret and wife Casey, Matt Livingston, and Brooke Freeman and husband Dan; step-daughter Diane LaRue Holman; and step-grandchildren Tabitha Holman and Nathan Holman.
She was preceded in death by her parents Burley Van Hatley and Cora Lee Davis Hatley; husband Henry Austin Ozborn; and brothers Van Hatley, Jim Hatley, and Narbon Lee Hatley.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to one of her favorites, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Guests may sign the online register at www.stephensfuneralsunion.com.
My 89 year old aunt, Norma Martin, asked me to sign Helen's guestbook for her. She told me Helen was always so very nice. Norma said she remembers Helen sitting down at the piano in their home and playing and singing so beautifully.

Grandma Helen was a beautiful person inside and out. One of my favorite memories was as a little girl making old fashioned ice-cream with her in Mississippi. Her kindness was evident for all to see. She will truly be missed.
