Graveside services for Annie Pearl Holley Muse, 93, were held Wednesday afternoon at Union City Cemetery with Bishop Spencer Blalock officiating.
Mrs. Muse passed away peacefully at her home on Monday morning, February 11, 2019. She was born July 9, 1925 near Hickory, MS, one of nine siblings born to James Simmons and Gladys Holley.
She married Henry Fredrick Muse in 1946 and together they reared four children. They spent their entire married life in Newton County.
Mrs. Muse retired from Laird Hospital after many years as the dietary manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Union where she was faithful in attendance until caring for her son and later, her own mobility issues prevented her being there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, middle son John Henry and son in law George Edward Nicholson. Siblings Harold Holley, Woodrow Holley, Hubert Holley, Luther Holley, Mavis Moore, Mary McCarty and Leona Nobles also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Muse is survived by two sons Larry Muse (June) of Union and Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Allen Muse of Union and daughter Patsy Muse Nicholson of Forest, MS.
She had five grandchildren: Holley Muse Blalock, Seth Muse, Sara Germany, Dr. Chandler Nicholson and Cameron Nicholson. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Spencer Blalock, Vernon Muse, Dr. Chandler Nicholson, Cameron Nicholson, Elder Joseph Poulsen and Elder Hayden LeCates.
